Strategic analysis is a thorough assessment of the operating environment for the purpose of developing a strategic plan. It ensures that the management team has a common understanding of the current state of the organization, and what opportunities or threats they should address in the future. In this training module, we will describe the purpose of a strategic analysis in the development of the strategic plan and explain the external and internal factors that should be considered in this analysis.  We will also discuss the use of the SWOT technique to facilitate this process and summarize the results.
